CSM Harris is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She began her career in the U.S. Army on 17 July 2001 as a Geospatial Engineer. She completed Basic Combat Training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

CSM Harris has served as a Topographic Analyst, Topographic Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Assistant Operations Sergeant, Geospatial Engineer Technician, and Geospatial Operations Sergeant Major, during her career. Her duties assignments include the 148th Engineer Detachment (3ID) (Fort Stewart, GA), Echo Company, 169th Engineer Battalion (Fort Leonard Wood, Mo); 100th Engineer Company (Fort Bragg, N.C.), 20th Engineer Brigade (Fort Bragg, N.C.); Alpha Company, 3rd Military Information Support Battalion (A) (Fort Bragg, N.C.); Mapping and Charting Establishment (Ottawa, ON); HHC, MSCoE (Fort Leonard Wood, MO); and 5th Engineer Detachment (GPC) (Fort Shafter, HI); 35th Engineer Battalion (OSUT) Fort Leonard Wood, MO). She also deployed with 3ID in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in 2002 & 2005 and with 20th Engineer Brigade in support of Operation New Dawn in 2012.

CSM Harris’ military education includes Basic Airborne School, Basic Leaders Course (BLC), Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), Senior Leaders Course (SLC), Master Leaders Course (MLC), Drill Sergeant School, Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program, Combative Level 1, and the United States Sergeant Majors Academy Non-Resident Course (USASMA), Class 44. CSM Harris’ civilian education includes a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas and a Master of Arts degree in Management and Leadership (Summa Cum Laude) from Webster University.

CSM Harris’ awards and decorations include, Meritorious Service Medal (5olc) oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal (6olc), the Army Achievement Medal (2olc), the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the National Defense Service Ribbon, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (3), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (2), the Army Service Ribbon, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Combat Action Badge, and the Italian Parachutist Badge.
