SGM Tonya M. Lewis is a native of Crestview, Florida and a graduate of Crestview Senior High School. She entered active-duty September 1996 and was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty, 92G, Food Service Specialist January 1997.
SGM Lewis’s assignments include 701st MSB Kitzingen, Germany; HHB DIV ARTY, Fort Stewart, Georgia; Company T. 266th QM BN, Fort Lee, Virginia; HSC 602d Aviation Support Brigade Camp Humphreys, Korea, 626th Brigade Support Battalion(Rakkasans), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, 526th Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Headquarters and Headquarters Company 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 210th Field Artillery, Camp Casey, Korea; The Immediate Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington District of Columbia; HHC USAG, Fort Myer, Virginia, Military District of Washington, District of Columbia, and Camp Humphreys, Korea and amp Shelby, MS. SGM Lewis deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
SGM Lewis has held numerous positions including, Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Shift Leader, Food Service Sergeant, Subsistence NCOIC, Training Room NCOIC, Dining Facility Manager, Instructor/Writer Developer, Course Director NCO, Support Operations NCOIC, First Sergeant, Senior Culinary Management NCO, Chief Culinary Management NCO(Immediate Office of the Secretary of Defense), Safety NCOIC(59th Presidential Inauguration), S-3 Plans & Operations NCO, JTF-NCR/USAMDW G-45 SGM, 8th Army G4 SGM and currently the 2-410 Brigade Support Battalion Command Sergeant Major.
SGM Lewis is a graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Food Service Management Course, First Sergeant Course, Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point Course, Contracting Officer Representative Course, Serv Safe Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Combatives Course, Total Army Instructor Training Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (NR-46) and the Pre-Command Course. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Homeland Security with a concentration in Counter-Terrorism Measures.
SGM Lewis’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, (6th Award), Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award). SGM Lewis is authorized to wear the Office of the Secretary of Defense Badge, the Order of Saint Martin Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and she is an Honorary Member of The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
